Heatwave Helpers

It’s late August. Over the past 3-months, I’ve tested many cooling strategies to stay relatively active & sane through sustained desert heatwaves. This doodle is a result of some small but mighty tools that I found helpful!

Nothing revolutionary here, but nonetheless, these played a big part in keeping me running, working, and building structures, outside in 100+F heat on a desert mountain without AC, ice, or any shade. (Update: it’s a new year & we have a little shade, ice, and AC now!)

Take with a grain of salt (or scoop of electrolytes) because we all respond differently!
